Yuri Yuryevich Alin was appointed as Director of the Sakhalin Regional Museum and took up the post on September 21.
The previous director, Temur Georgievich Mironov, who had been leading the Museum for a year, resigned because of a new job offered. The duties and responsibilities of the Museum Director were performed by Viktor Vladislavovich Shcheglov, Deputy Director for Research and Development.
Yuri Yuryevich is 40 years old. He was born in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. In 1999 he graduated from the Sakhalin State University, with a degree in History and Sociology, and in 2011 received a second higher education in the same University, on specialty State and Municipal Management.
He served as Deputy Director of the Institute of History, Sociology and Management and was responsible for the Institute scientific activities; from 1999 to 2008, he taught students of the Department of World History. In 2008, he moved to the Department of the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation for the Sakhalin Oblast and since 2009 he has worked there as Deputy Director.
Yuri Yurievich is the author of a number of research papers on the history of the financial system of the Sakhalin Oblast, among which are: «Development of the Monetary System of the Sakhalin Oblast in the Second Half of the 20th Century»; «Transformation of the Banking System of the Sakhalin Oblast in the Second Half of the 1980s, 20th century»; «Organization of the Monetary System of Southern Sakhalin in the Transition Period (19451946)»; «Development of the Banking System of the Sakhalin Oblast in 19651985»; «Development of the Financial System of the Governorship of Karafuto in 1905 – 1945».
