From November 21 to November 25, 2017, the Sakhalin Regional Museum researchers were on a business trip in Poronaisky and Tymovsky districts.
Anna Yuryevna Levkovskaya and Alyona Igorevna Poznyhova visited the collections at the Poronaisk Museum as part of the project: «Virtual Museum» National Cultures of Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands of the XIX-XX centuries". This project combines three types of presentation of collection database: a website, a catalog of museum items and a multimedia display. In the course of the work valuable materials on the material and spiritual culture of Sakhalin peoples have been selected, and soon will be placed in the corresponding topical sections on the web page of the Virtual Museum of the Sakhalin Region Ч http://sakh-virtualmuseum.ru.
Nadezhda Andreevna Glushkova met with veterans of the Great Patriotic War who reside in Tymovsky municipal district, and wrote down their stories in the framework of the scientific project «World War II. Veterans of War and Home Front.» Nine video stories were recorded about the most terrible and tragic period in the history of our country. During the business trip, museum specialists managed to record stories of war veterans about the occupation of villages and towns by the Nazi Germany in the western part of Ukraine, Kuban, Moscow region. The deciphered material will be posted on the Sakhalin Regional Museum web site, Section «World War II. Veterans of War and Home Front», and also will be placed into the museum collection database for future generations.
