Lunar Eclipse

02.02.2018

January 31, residents of the Sakhalin region watched an unusual phenomenon — the Lunar Eclipse. This eclipse coincided in time with the Supermoon, that is, when the Moon reaches it’s the closest distance to Earth and visually it appears substantially larger than its normal size.
And because of the eclipse, the Moon will acquire an even more mysterious appearance, since it is partially colored in the blue, and partly in a dark reddish colour. This is indeed a rare and very colorful event.
It was interesting to watch this phenomenon.
Special thanks to Sergey Krasnoukhov / TASS and Daniel Dyomkin, who provided photos for the museum’s website.
