Lectures and Classes Were Given for Schoolchildren by Museum Staff

On February 9, the staff of the Sakhalin Regional Museum conducted lectures and classes for students of Secondary School No. 19 in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and Secondary School in the village of Sokol, Dolinsk District.
During the excursion around the Sakhalin Region in the XX century 1905–1945 Hall of the museum schoolchildren discovered a lot of interesting facts about the Sakhalin region in the years of the Russo-Japanese War and the Great Patriotic War, about the feats of Sakhaliners and about the military operations that were important for the territorial integrity of our region.
School students attended the Cold Steel and Firearms where they learned about characteristics, features, inventors, pluses and minuses of the weapons of the Russian, Japanese and German armies that were used in the military conflicts of the 20th century and now are stored in the Museum’s collections. The students were allowed to hold samples of cold steel and firearms in their hands and take pictures.
