March 23 at 4:00 p.m., the Sakhalin Regional Museum opens a new exhibition «Tea Tradition and Modernity» brought by the Kyakhta Regional Museum named after Academician V.A. Obruchev.
A cycle of events «Such Different Tea Traditions» will be held as part of the Exhibition program activities.
The first meeting «Kyakhta Tea-Party and Old-Time Recipes» will be held March 24 at 2:00 p.m. Enjoy the national songs and savour unforgettable authentic teas made on the base of three special old-time Kyakhta recipes «Taiga» tea, tea of the steppe peoples and the famous «Merchant Tea».
Lilia Borisovna Tydenova, Deputy Director for Research at Kyakhta Museum of Local History named after Academician V.A. Obrucheva will tell about the history of tea in Russia, the Great Tea Route, the city of millionaires, which played an important role in the development of Siberia and Russia and about the Kyakhta merchants, famous for their hospitality. Lilia Borisovna will personally brew tea and place traditional Russian pies and pancakes.
