We Invite You to Attend the Lecture

On April 25 at 3:00 p.m., the Sakhalin Regional Museum invites everyone interested in the history of Sakhalin to attend a lecture «Remarkable Sakhalin Minerals. The Ancient Past of Sakhalin in Paleontological Finds and Problems of its Preservation». The lecture will be delivered by Alexander Victorovich Solovyov, Senior Researcher of the Natural Science Department of the Sakhalin Regional Museum.
The lecture will tell about the most interesting fossil finds made in Sakhalin:
- cephalopod ammonites,
- giant Patellogastropods,
- great-grandfather of all your favorite moomins,
- predatory toothed whale — sakhalinocete,
- of the ancestor of all the whales, which «ran around the edge of the sea.»
Also, you will hear recommendations on how to become a successful fossil in order to survive for millions of years.
