Weekend at the Museum

04.05.2018

We invite you to come and spend a weekend at the Sakhalin Regional Museum. The staff of the museum have prepared a rich and diverse program, which includes excursions, lectures, games.
Join us on May 5 at 12:00 (noon) and 3:00 p.m. to play a new board game «On the Great Tea Route». You will feel like a representative of one of the trading houses of the XIX century, you can «buy» a batch of tea in China, and then profitably «sell» it in Russia, overcoming the various obstacles encountered by merchants of that time. The plot of the game is based on historical facts, the materials used by players are copies of real items, bank notes and coins of the XIX century.
On May 5 and 6, at 12:00 (noon) and 3:00 p.m., we invite you to take a guide tour «Collections of the Museum». You will learn about the nature and history of the island region, get acquainted with the rare and amazing exhibits of the museum.
In the evening on May 5, we offer to watch the documentary «When the Earth Changes Color,» which tells about the features of spring on Sakhalin. Film starts at 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
