May 12, 2018 at 12:00 (noon), the Sakhalin Regional Museum will be held the fourth event of the cycle «Such Different Tea Traditions» on the basis of the exhibition «Tea Tradition and Modernity» from the Kyakhta Museum of Local History named after Academician V.A. Obruchev.
Tea ceremonies in each country has its own characteristics. This time we invite residents and guests of the Sakhalin region to learn more about Japan’s rich tea culture. The choice of this country is not accidental, because the year 2018 has been proclaimed the Cross Year of Russia and Japan, and a significant place is given to bilateral cultural cooperation.
Representatives of the Consulate General of Japan in the city of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Tamura Mari and Niyoshi Ryu will hold a tea ceremony at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., talk about the traditions and history of tea ceremony in Japan, as well as the dishes and appliances that are involved in the tea making process.
Everyone will be able to enjoy the art of the Japanese tea ceremony, which reflects the essence of the culture of this nation modesty, politeness, simplicity, the ability to see and feel the beautiful. The Japanese tea ceremony is a real art of making and drinking tea, a very beautiful and complex ritual.
