On May 31, the Sakhalin Regional Museum conducted an event dedicated to the World No Tobacco Day (celebrated on May 31, 2018). Vladimir Ivanovich Ku, Hygiene Education Specialist of the Sakhalin Regional Center for Medical Prevention talked about the dangers of smoking, its negative impact on human health, and elaborated on the issues that interested the audience in more detail:
- causes and factors of hypertension, atherosclerosis, oncological diseases,
- steps to healthy eating and healthy lifestyle.
Vladimir Ivanovich also informed the audience about the current state of pharmaceutical industry, different views of doctors on the methods of treatment, diagnosis and prevention of some of diseases that are widespread throughout the world today. In general, the primary cause of 70% of human diseases is stress, since the constriction of blood vessels caused by stress, has a negative impact on blood circulation and, as a result, develops essential hypertension.
The meeting finished with a brief overview of the foreign doctors’ experience on the prevention and treatment of atherosclerosis and oncological diseases, the expedient use of therapeutic fasting.
