The Sakhalin Regional Museum invites residents and visitors of the island region to come to the Museum’s garden and admire blossoming rhododendrons. The first buds have already opened.
Rhododendrons are evergreen or deciduous plants, which can be either shrub or semi-shrub, or a tree. There are many types and species of rhododendrons. According to degree of popularity and decorative properties, the rhododendron is not inferior to the rose. It is actively used in landscape design.
Graceful, delicate and large flower buds make an impression on everyone and fascinate with their unique colors.
Rhododendron blooms lasts only a couple of weeks, so come and admire the beauty of flowers growing in the Museum’s garden.
If you plan to admire forest peonies, then you’ll have to hurry. Pink buds stay closed two or three days, pleasing to the eye and «preparing to bloom». Then the petals slowly open. The flower lives for several hours and falls off.
Forest peony (Reverse oval) is listed in the Red Book of Russia and in the Red Book of the Sakhalin Oblast.
