On August 7, the Sakhalin Regional Museum launches the project «Museum Makes the Kindergarten’s Children Happy!», which will help the children of preschool institutions get acquainted with the traditions of Russian culture, nature, history and ethnography of the Sakhalin Region in an accessible and interesting form in comfortable conditions. The project is the winner of the first round of the grant contest of the Energy Social Initiatives Fund of Sakhalin Energy.
The project is implemented through a cycle of classes in a playful form, with elements of theatre performance and demonstration of original items from the collections of the Sakhalin Regional Museum linked with the current museum expositions.
- History of Geological Development of Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands;
- Geography, fauna and flora of Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands;
- Ancient cultures and indigenous peoples of Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands.
There will be will a creative workshop each meeting, where children will create handmade memory crafts. It might be an applique, a paper basket with ethnic ornaments, painted wooden utensils or painted sea stones, a 3D paper shape or a simple origami, a drawing or crafts of plasticine.
The Sakhalin Regional Museum invites preschool educational institutions, especially those that are situated far from the city of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, and begins to receive applications from July 12, 2018.
