From March 12 to March 21, a research scientist from the History Department of the Sakhalin Regional Museum was on a business trip in the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) (town of Neryungri, village of Iengra, Yakutsk).
O.F. Solovyova received a unique opportunity to personally attend the Inter-regional festival of the Evenki language and culture «Doolin Bugavitylin Commandments Of My Land».
Within the framework of the Festival, a scientific and practical conference «Evenki Language: Challenges of the New Time» was held. Also there were carried out open Evenki language lessons as well as lessons on learning to play national musical instruments, master classes.
The Congress of the Evenks of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) (VII Suglan of the Evenks of Yakutia) and the Day of the Reindeer Herder made an unforgettable impression upon all participants; more than 300 representatives of Evenks from all regions of the Republic, as well as invited guests from different regions of Russia attended the above events.
The most massive and spectacular completion of the Festival was the national festival Uktyvun reindeer sleigh rides, which are organized in the early spring by the reindeer herders of the North.
Traditionally, the festival includes a concert program, the national clothing contest «Ayavriv evedy taktkev», the competition for the best harness and snowmobile pulling.
Despite her tight schedule, Olga Fedorovna worked for several days with the collections of the National Library of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), familiarized herself with personal collections of famous scientists who studied the indigenous peoples of the Russian Far East and Sakhalin: K. A. Novikova, Ch. M. Taksami, L. I. Sem, discussed projects for future collaboration.
