On September 7 – 8, 2019, a unique exhibition «Private Museums of Russia. Nuggets of Russia» will be held in Sokolniki Park. The exhibition is organized by the Association of Private Museums of Russia, the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy, Sokolniki Park. The official partner of the project is the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
The purpose of the exhibition is to show the large Moscow audience the wide diversity of the national culture of Russia and its regions, introduce traditions and unlock new knowledge about the history, geography and culture of our country. The exhibition program includes lectures, master classes, thematic conferences and round tables.
For the first time, collections of more than 100 private museum owners from all across Russia, from Kamchatka to Kaliningrad, will be presented at one exhibition. Among the exhibitors are such museums as Museum of Woodworking Tools, «Iron Kingdom» Museum, the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy with a large collection of calligraphic works of Russian, Arabic, Jewish, Chinese, Indian and Mongolian calligraphy, Military Museum of Karelian Isthmus, Ilya Muromets Theater and Museum, folklore Museum of Russian Superstitions, Museum of Goat from Tver, Museum of Telephone History, Borovsky Museum-House of Merchants and Old Believers and other unique museums.
For connoisseurs of art and collectors, owners of private museums, the exhibition «Private Museums of Russia. Nuggets of Russia» is intended to become a platform for professionals for an exchange of views and discussion of issues on the development of private museum business, legislative regulation in this industry, working out of necessary documents, establishing links with tour operators, hotels, and Internet resources.

The official opening ceremony of the exhibition «Private Museums of Russia. Nuggets of Russia» will be held on September 7, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sokolniki Exhibition and Convention Center at the address: the 5th Luchevoy Prosek 7, building 1, Pavilion 4.1, Moscow.
The exhibition is sponsored by the State Duma Committee on Culture, the Russian National Committee of the International Council of Museums (ICOM Russia), the Ministry of Culture of the Moscow Region, the Committee on Culture of St. Petersburg, the Department of Culture of the Yaroslavl Region, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Buryatia, and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Adygea.
