Sakhalin Dinosaur Skull Will Be Sent To Moscow

The Sakhalin Regional Museum sends a replica of the Sakhalin dinosaurТs skull (Nipponosaurus sachalinensis) to participate in the festival «Days of the Far East», which will be held in Moscow from December 2 to 14 in order to increase the attention of tourists to the eastern part of Russia. Replica has been created using 3D printer.
Sakhalin dinosaur (Nipponosaurus sachalinensis) is a small herbivorous dinosaur that lived in the late Cretaceous Period. The first and only skeleton of this dinosaur was discovered on Sakhalin in 1934 in the territory of the modern village of Sinegorsk. The approximate length was about four meters. This dinosaur species is the member of the family Hadrosauridae. The duckbill dinosaur moved solely on both four and two legs.
The reconstructed model (replica) of the skeleton of the Sakhalin dinosaur (Nipponosaurus sachalinensis) is exhibited at the Sakhalin Regional Museum.
